Judge Gary McCorvey

Judge Gary McCorvey was born in Tifton and attended public schools in Worth County
for ten years before graduating from Turner County High School. After he received
his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Valdosta State College in 1970, he
taught school for one year and engaged in agribusiness endeavors in South Georgia
before entering the University of Georgia School of Law in 1978. Upon graduation
from UGA in 1981, he received the degree of Juris Doctor, cum laude, and was
inducted into The Order of the Coif.
Before his election as Superior
Court Judge, his legal career was almost equally divided between
private practice and public service. He has served as Assistant
District Attorney in the Tifton, Cordele and Ocmulgee Judicial Circuits,
and served as Chief Assistant District Attorney both in the Cordele
and Tifton Circuits. While in private law practice, he had offices
in Ashburn and Cordele.
For 30+ years he has been married
to the former Betty Strain, a native of Atlanta and graduate of
Emory University, with a Masters from Valdosta State. The McCorveys
are members of the First United Methodist Church of Tifton.

Judge Bill
Reinhardt

Bill Reinhardt was
born and raised in Tifton, Georgia. He graduated from Tift County
High School in 1982 and received his Bachelor of Science in
Agriculture degree from the University of Georgia in 1986. He
received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of
Georgia School of Law in 1990.
Prior to his
election to the bench in November, 2006, he practiced law at the
firm of Reinhardt, Whitley, Wilmot, Summerlin & Pittman, P.C. in
Tifton, Georgia handling a variety of domestic, criminal, business
and transactional matters. He was also actively involved with local
government boards and public service organizations.
He is married to
the former Lisa Dickens of Tifton and they have three (3) children,
Will, Charlie and Georgia. The Reinhardts currently reside in
Tifton where they attend the First United Methodist Church. |

Charleston Carter (Circuit Court Administrator)

Charleston Carter received his early education in the Cook County
School System, graduating from Cook High School in 1994. He
graduated with honors when he received his undergraduate degree in
Criminal Justice from Valdosta State University in 1999, and when he
received his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2001. While
pursuing these degrees, he was inducted into the Omicron Delta
Kappa, Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, and Alpha Phi Sigma Honor
Society. Charleston has also attended numerous training sessions
and seminars which served to enhance his knowledge of the judicial
system.
Carter’s interest in the betterment of his community is evidenced
through his membership in organizations such as: Chamber of
Commerce, Lions’ Club, Community Service Board, Brother’s Helping
Others, Right Track Program, Harambee, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity,
Inc., Pi Iota Lambda Chapter, HEROES( Helping Everyone Reach Optimum
Educational Success), and PLIGHT, Inc. (Proud Loving Individuals
Giving a Hand to Teens).
Carter
joined the Superior Court Staff on October 9, 2006, and he is a member of New Prospect Baptist
Church.
